Some of the most influential faces behind North America’s trendsetting electronic music brands are embarking to Toronto across 3-days of networking, panels and master classes. This year, organizers of the Canadian DJ Show & Conference are turning the tables towards some of the personalities who are making headway in the world of both publishing music and sharing it to global audiences via media platforms.
Noteworthy additions to this year’s roster of panelists include Harrison Bennett, the label manager at Deadbeats, a music publisher on a major upswing after its 2016 founding by Zeds Dead. Harrison joins, James “Disco Donnie” Estopinal on this year’s industry panel. Founded by Estopinal in 1995, Disco Donnie Presents has been one of North America’s most influential nightlife event promoters while spending 5 years as a partner of Insomniac Events in the late 2010s and navigating the portfolio of SFX Entertainment too.
Will McCarthy, the Managing Editor at Dancing Astronaut sits on a brand new digital marketing panel alongside other guests like DJ Mag’s North American editor Sarah Polonsky. These speakers, including our own editor, will be chatting about how independent electronic musicians can find better ways to get the media’s attention and their beats in the ears of consumers.
2017 also welcomes the first ever Women in Dance Music panel to the show. The seminar is comprised of a diverse group of industry professionals that will be reviewing the dance music community from a female perspective, identifying areas of strength and concern for women preparing to join the industry through the voices of Sydney Blu, JES and others.
