Solid Events – the team behind Vancouver’s Doom’s Night, Solid NYE and Insomnia – and Electric Escape – the newly commissioned creators of Canada’s largest trance shows – are founding Toronto’s next electronic music festival, TRUE NORTH Music Festival. Landing on the Victoria Day long weekend, this brand new music festival is promising to be a one stop shop for a variety of major practitioners from the dance music realm
Held inside the walls of the enormous Arrow Hall/Hall 5 at The International Centre, just footsteps from Pearson Airport, and the previous concert home of electronic music legends such as Daft Punk (2007), Tiesto (2009) and Hardwell (2014), organizers have proclaimed that the time has come for another gigantic celebration of electronic music from the GTA. 10,000 fans are expected to arrive at the gargantuan hanger-shaped hall to take in state-of-the-art sound, lighting and visuals.
The inaugural edition of TRUE NORTH will be comprised of two stages and will feature over twelve international acts in addition to some of Canada’s own home-grown talent over the course of a full day – 5pm until 2am. Solid Events and Electric Escape chose a lineup of incredibly diverse tastemakers from the global electronic dance music scene. The worlds of bass music, dubstep, progressive house, big room, trance, trap, hardstyle and more will be represented across 9 hours of heart-pumping and body-moving beats. TRUE NORTH arrives at the International Centre on May 21st, 2017. Keep a lookout for the full lineup announcement this Friday, March 3rd.
