After years of operating as a renegade portion to Nuit Blanche’s officially commissioned components, Wiggly Events have claimed installation status at this year’s all-night event. On September 30th, Wiggly Street merges nightlife with intrinsic art elements for a free street rave between Hamilton Street and Broadview Avenue, just North of Queen.
The Wiggly group, a multidisciplinary collective, combines sculpture, visual arts, video, dance & audio as mediums to create environments that unite audiences. Produced by Takin Nateghi, this project includes four major components curated by four respective artists. The project will feature live music, projection mapping celebrating major world milestones and symbolisms that represent Canadian culture and values, sculptural installations with LED components representing futuristic urban forestry, and choreographed group art performances.
As you probably know, Nuit Blanche is a Free event, and as such, the Wiggly team are asking for help in paying for the costs associated with putting together this installation HERE. Read more about the installation HERE.
