To mark the 375th anniversary of Montréal, Produkt is preparing a special edition of one of Canada’s longest running electronic music institutions, Bal en Blanc. Titled Bal en Blanc in the park, the event will be held at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Sunday, May 28th, the same island that plays host to both Osheaga and ÎleSoniq year-over-year. Martin Garrix, currently charted on the #1 spot of DJ Mag, will headline this boutique outdoor edition, a summer spectacle that promises to bring the same artsy attitude of the traditionally indoor show to the great outdoors.
The site will feature original art installations backed by a view of the Montréal panorama. Organizers say that festival-goers can admire the illuminated Jacques-Cartier bridge in the background as night falls on the property. Borgore, Slander, San Holo and many more electronic music craftspeople will perform across the site’s three stages. In addition to the main structure, the Nous sommes Montréal stage will showcase local talents, while the DSTRKT stage will feature underground djs and producers – much like the indoor event series by the same name that utilizes New City Gas’ back terrace. A limited number of tickets starting at $69 will be on sale as of Wednesday, April 19 at noon.
